The Reading Journey : A Book Review

I have read almost hundreds of books till date and explored many genres starting from romance to fantasy and then crime and thriller and mystery. The credit for the beginning of my reading journey goes to the movie "The Twilight Saga". When I first watched its first part, I was obsessed. Then I searched it on Google, all about the cast and everything and then I got to know that the movie is actually an adaptation of the books. That's when I ordered my first ever novel. I read it in maybe three days which was something to flex upon. Then my papa went to New Delhi and I asked him to bring the series. Till then I read the Twilight Saga once again. And then when I got the rest of the books I read them, then re read them. I actually believed that no book other than this one can be that good. I was wrong, obviously. The best paranormal fantasy novel I have read till now is the Crave series by Tracy Wolff. It has all the elements that a reader possibly wants in a good book. The ...

Fallen in LOVE

27 July, 2024  I have thought about this word many times now. Whenever I read a Colleen Hoover book, there is a quote where she questions the word FALL often used for describing love or stating love. “You're looking at me like you fell in love with me." "I didn't  fall  in love with you. I  flew .” Or She just described it as a sad word because we often fall and sometimes get hurt.  But when I think about it, I believe it's a perfect word used for a feeling as beautiful as love. Because just like a fall from a valley or stairs, it's unexpected . It's sudden and immediate and we can never control it. It just happens. Just like we fall. A word which is often used for talking about getting hurt becomes so beautiful when we use it for LOVE.  Like yes, I have fallen for you. I have fallen in love with you when I didn't want to and I expected it the least to happen this with you but I did. I did fall for you, irrevocably and irrationally and unexpectedly. An...

FEELINGS ARE TO BE FELT

FEELINGS ARE TO BE FELT One day you're sad. And you have been sad for quite a long time now. You have stopped talking to people. Nothing holds a fraction of interest anymore. You're just breathing. You have become a robotic version of yourself who wakes up and does her regular chores but doesn't feel anything. You feel numb. You begin to question if you even deserve love. Every day you have to question yourself why is that. Why do you feel like that? Are you not enough? Enough for any single person to wait for you or stay with you while you feel broken or unworthy? You start taunting yourself for not doing enough and blame yourself for being the way that you are. Days go in a flash but these are the nights which haunts you the most. When it's daytime and sun is shining and you are not, you feel afraid. Afraid of the night that comes in a few hours of time and the way it would haunt you. When it's night, all the memories of the people who were dear to you comes back ...

Reservation: Boon or a Curse?

Reservation: Boon or a Curse?  Before discussing whether the reservation system is just or not, let's see what exactly it is.  Reservation was done after the independence by the Mandal Commission under PM Morarji Desai for the development of backward groups and providing equal opportunities to them so that they could also have access to the resources and opportunities.  Reservation was important back then because those backward groups had been oppressed and exploited for a long time before independence which had made them weaker economically, socially, politically and educationally. But even after more than 75 years of Independence, is it still necessary?  I think so. I know for a fact that India has developed itself a lot in every sector and position of the backward classes have been improved since independence but I still see the need of reservation because it encourages the people to participate in the competition knowing that they have been given an equal represe...

CAN WE EVER BE COMPLETELY HAPPY???

CAN WE EVER BE COMPLETELY HAPPY???  To all my fellow teenagers... Happiness is such a happy word in itself. Don't you think so? But how can we become happy?  Some might suggest by playing our favorite game while some may suggest by doing what we like that can include dancing, singing, cooking or drawing.  Y'know being teenagers, we are often told that we should study hard and focus on making our career so that we can enjoy our lives later on. Something like "Struggle now and enjoy afterwards or enjoy now and struggle your entire life". But do you think it's completely right? I mean it may appear to you to as a fact but is it really?? I think we need to look into it.  I have seen many people around me who have worked really hard in their school lives and they are probably earning a good amount of money as well but I still see them struggling with their lives. They want to seek better opportunities and to earn more and more. They face crisis, small and severe, both....
